Nidhi Agarwal Faces ED Questioning: Nidhi Agarwal Appears Before ED in Online Betting Case

Actress Nidhi Agarwal is set to appear before the Enforcement Directorate in Hyderabad over allegations linked to the promotion of an online betting platform.

Nidhi Agarwal Faces ED Questioning: Actress Nidhi Agarwal is expected to appear before the Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday in connection with a case involving the promotion of an online betting platform.

The agency had earlier issued a notice to the actress asking her to appear for questioning. Officials are expected to record her statement and seek details about her alleged association with the promotion of betting and gaming platforms.

The investigation is looking at the role played by celebrities and social media influencers in advertising such platforms. The ED is also examining the case from a possible money laundering angle.

The case was registered following a complaint filed by Hyderabad based businessman Phanindra Sharma. In his complaint, he alleged that celebrities promoted online betting and gaming platforms through advertisements and encouraged people to put money into them.

The complaint and subsequent investigation have brought several names from the entertainment and social media space under scrutiny. The FIR reportedly includes actors Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Vijay Deverakonda, Manchu Lakshmi, Pranitha and Ananya Nagalla, besides several social media influencers.

The agency is expected to question Nidhi Agarwal about the nature of any promotional activity, the companies or platforms involved and the circumstances under which such promotions were carried out.

Her appearance before the ED does not by itself establish any wrongdoing. The agency’s questioning is part of the ongoing investigation, and further action will depend on the information and documents gathered during the probe.
