Redmi Note 17 Series Set For Global Launch With New Pro Max Model

Redmi Note 17 series is heading to international markets on August 27, with Xiaomi confirming a new Pro Max model alongside display, battery and AI upgrades.

Redmi is preparing to take its latest Note series beyond China, with the Redmi Note 17 lineup scheduled to make its international debut on August 27.

The upcoming global range is expected to include the Redmi Note 17, Redmi Note 17 Pro and a new Redmi Note 17 Pro Max. Xiaomi has already revealed the Pro Max name through a dedicated microsite on its international website, making it one of the key additions to the overseas lineup.

The announcement comes shortly after the series was introduced in China. Xiaomi has now confirmed the global launch date through a post on X, while further details about individual models are expected closer to the event.

All three smartphones are expected to feature a 6.83 inch CrystalRes AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution. Xiaomi has also highlighted SGS and TÜV SÜD certifications for the displays, indicating a focus on durability and viewing comfort.

Performance is expected to come from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset. The company has also confirmed AI powered portrait enhancement features, although complete camera specifications for the international models have not yet been revealed.

The Pro Max is expected to be the most feature packed phone in the range. Reports suggest it could carry a massive 10000mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging. Such a combination could appeal to users who prioritise long battery life without wanting frequent charging breaks.

Leaks have also pointed towards a 50 megapixel primary rear camera paired with an 8 megapixel ultra wide camera on the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max. A 32 megapixel front camera could be used for selfies and video calls.

There are signs that the Pro Max could also receive 8GB of RAM and run Android 16 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3. A smartphone carrying the model number 2609FRA74G recently appeared on Geekbench and is believed to be the international version of the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max.

The alleged benchmark listing recorded 924 points in the single core test and 2923 points in the multi core test. While the listing offers an early glimpse at the device, its connection with the Pro Max has not been officially confirmed by Xiaomi.

The Redmi Note 17 series could also reach India next month. However, Indian pricing, exact configurations and availability remain unconfirmed. More information is expected after the international launch.
