iQOO 16 May Bring Triple 50MP Cameras And Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro

iQOO 16 is expected to arrive with a powerful processor, triple 50MP rear cameras, a high refresh rate display and a large battery for flagship users.

iQOO appears to be preparing its next flagship smartphone, with early reports suggesting that the upcoming iQOO 16 could receive major upgrades in cameras, performance and battery capacity.

The company has not officially confirmed the device yet. However, a report attributed to tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo claims that the smartphone could be introduced in China as early as next month.

One of the biggest changes could come in the camera department. The iQOO 16 is reportedly being tested with three 50 megapixel rear cameras. The primary sensor could feature an f 1.68 aperture, while the ultra wide camera may have an f 2.0 aperture. A 50 megapixel periscope camera is also expected to handle long range photography.

The rear camera setup may sit inside a redesigned square shaped module positioned toward the upper left corner of the phone. If these specifications materialise, iQOO could be placing greater emphasis on camera performance with its next generation flagship.

The display is also expected to be a major highlight. Reports suggest that the iQOO 16 could use a 6.85 inch Samsung flat display with 2K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. Such a panel would target users looking for smoother gaming and high end multimedia performance.

Under the hood, the smartphone is tipped to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset, paired with an Adreno 850 GPU. A separate graphics chip could also be included to improve visual performance, particularly during demanding gaming sessions.

The reported hardware list does not stop there. The iQOO 16 could feature symmetrical dual speakers, an X axis linear motor and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for biometric security.

Battery capacity could be another standout feature. The phone is reportedly being developed with an 8500mAh battery and support for 100W wired charging. If confirmed, the larger battery would give the device an advantage for users who spend long hours gaming, streaming or using demanding applications.

The upcoming model is expected to succeed the iQOO 15, which was launched in India last year. The existing model features a 6.85 inch Samsung M14 8T LTPO AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 6000 nits.

The iQOO 15 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and uses an Adreno GPU. Its rear camera system includes 50 megapixel primary, 50 megapixel periscope telephoto and 50 megapixel ultra wide cameras. A 32 megapixel front camera handles selfies and video calls.

The current flagship also carries a 7000mAh battery with 100W wired and 40W wireless charging support, along with a vapour chamber cooling system for thermal management.

For now, the iQOO 16 specifications remain based on leaks and reports rather than official information. More details, including the launch date, pricing and availability in India, are likely to become clearer closer to the company’s announcement.
