Tecno Pova 8 Pro 5G India Launch Tomorrow With Dimensity 7400 Ultimate

Tecno is preparing to expand its Pova lineup in India with the Pova 8 Pro 5G, which is set to make its debut on August 18. The company has already started teasing the handset, while a dedicated listing has appeared on Flipkart.

The upcoming smartphone is expected to retain the specifications seen on its international version. It will be offered in Arc White, Tundra Green and Graphite Black colour options. Tecno has not yet revealed the Indian price.

One of the more unusual additions is the Alive Matrix Display on the rear. It uses 177 mini LEDs to create lighting effects for incoming calls and gaming related notifications. This gives the handset a distinctive look compared with conventional smartphones.

At the front, the Pova 8 Pro 5G is expected to feature a 6.78 inch HyperLux AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection is also included, making the screen better suited to everyday use.

Powering the phone will be the octa core MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate chipset. Tecno is also adding its P1 graphics chip, with the hardware aimed at improving the gaming experience. The phone will run on Android 16 and is promised two major operating system upgrades along with three years of security updates.

Gaming performance is supported by a large thermal solution. The handset reportedly has a vapor chamber cooling system covering a 5000 square millimeter heat dissipation area, which should help control temperatures during demanding tasks.

The camera setup includes a 50 megapixel Sony LYT 700C primary sensor with optical image stabilization. An 8 megapixel ultra wide camera is expected to sit alongside it on the rear.

Battery life is another key feature. The Pova 8 Pro 5G will carry a 6500mAh battery with support for 45W wired fast charging. Despite the large battery, the phone is expected to remain relatively slim at 7.39mm and weigh around 189 grams.
