Moto G Max vs OnePlus N6 vs Poco M8 5G: Which Phone Wins Under Rs 30000

Moto G Max enters the competitive under Rs 30000 segment with a large battery, while OnePlus N6 and Poco M8 5G offer their own strengths in display, performance and storage.

• Moto G Max offers a 7000mAh battery.

• OnePlus N6 packs an 8000mAh battery.

• Poco M8 5G features a curved AMOLED display.

The under Rs 30000 smartphone segment has become increasingly competitive, and buyers now have several options with strong displays, capable processors and large batteries. Motorola’s new Moto G Max is one of the latest entrants, taking on the OnePlus N6 and Poco M8 5G.

Price could be an important factor in this comparison. The Moto G Max starts at Rs 27999 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model. The OnePlus N6 is priced at Rs 24999 for its 4GB and 128GB version, while the 6GB and 128GB variant costs Rs 26999.

Poco offers more storage choices with the M8 5G. Its 6GB RAM and 128GB model is priced at Rs 24999, while the 8GB RAM versions cost Rs 26999 for 128GB and Rs 28999 for 256GB storage.

The display hardware gives the Poco M8 5G a clear advantage on paper. It comes with a 6.77 inch curved AMOLED panel featuring Full HD Plus resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3200 nits of peak brightness.

The Moto G Max uses a 6.7 inch Full HD Plus LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1050 nits. The OnePlus N6 has a slightly larger 6.75 inch HD Plus LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1200 nits of peak brightness.

Performance is handled by different chipsets across all three phones. The Moto G Max uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, while the OnePlus N6 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6360 Apex. The Poco M8 5G gets the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor.

Software is another point of difference. Moto G Max runs Android 16, while the OnePlus N6 comes with Android 16 based OxygenOS 16. The Poco M8 5G runs Android 15 based HyperOS 2.

Camera specifications are fairly competitive. The Moto G Max features a 50 megapixel main rear camera paired with an 8 megapixel ultrawide camera. The OnePlus N6 has a 50 megapixel primary rear camera, while the Poco M8 5G combines a 50 megapixel main camera with a 2 megapixel secondary sensor.

For selfies, the Moto G Max has an 8 megapixel front camera. The Poco M8 5G goes further with a 20 megapixel front camera. The supplied specifications do not clearly list the OnePlus N6 front camera, so it is better not to assume a specification that has not been confirmed.

Battery capacity is where the OnePlus N6 stands out. It packs an 8000mAh battery with 45W fast charging. The Moto G Max follows with a 7000mAh battery and 30W TurboPower charging, while the Poco M8 5G has a 5520mAh battery with 45W wired charging.

Looking at the overall package, the Poco M8 5G appears particularly attractive for buyers who prioritise display quality and storage. The OnePlus N6 has the biggest battery among the three, while the Moto G Max offers a balanced combination of battery capacity, display resolution and Android 16.

The final choice will largely depend on what matters most to the buyer. Those looking for a brighter AMOLED screen may prefer Poco, while users focused on battery capacity could lean towards OnePlus. Motorola, meanwhile, offers a middle ground with its large battery and Full HD Plus display.
