Khelo India Youth Games: Revanth Reddy Calls for Grand Khelo India Youth Games 2026

Khelo India Youth Games: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed officials to make the Khelo India Youth Games 2026 a prestigious event as Telangana prepares to host the national level competitions in December.

During a review meeting at Bodhi Pavilion on Tuesday, the Chief Minister examined the preparations for the sporting event and stressed the need for better arrangements across Hyderabad.

Since athletes from several states are expected to take part, Revanth Reddy asked officials to assess the condition of existing sports grounds and improve facilities wherever necessary. He also called for long term development of venues so they can continue to support major competitions in the future.

The state government is ready to provide the required funds for infrastructure improvements, according to the Chief Minister. Officials were asked to start the groundwork for the opening and closing ceremonies well in advance.

Revanth Reddy also suggested involving athletes and film personalities in the ceremonies to give the event a wider appeal. Arjuna Award winners from Telangana, members of the Telangana Sports Hub Board, representatives of the Olympic Association and national level sports officials are also expected to be part of the programmes.

The Chief Minister said the entire event should reflect sporting spirit and provide participants with a positive experience. He also emphasised the importance of completing preparations well ahead of the December competitions.

Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari, government adviser Ramakrishna Rao, SATS chairman Shiv Sena Reddy, Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan and SATS managing director Sonibala Devi attended the review meeting.
