Flipkart Launches Pay Later Service With Flexible Payment Options Before Freedom Sale

Flipkart has launched its new Pay Later service in partnership with PayU Finance, giving customers flexible payment choices including a 30 day repayment option and easy installments.

Flipkart has introduced a new Pay Later service in India, offering customers greater flexibility while shopping online. The latest payment solution has been launched in partnership with PayU Finance and is designed to make purchases easier by allowing shoppers to choose how and when they want to pay. The service is now available across Flipkart, Myntra and Flipkart Minutes, expanding credit based payment options for millions of users.

The launch comes just ahead of Flipkart’s much awaited Freedom Sale, giving shoppers an additional payment choice before one of the company’s biggest annual shopping events. The sale is scheduled to begin on August 8, while Flipkart Plus and Flipkart Black members are expected to receive early access from August 7. Customers using SBI credit cards during the sale will also be eligible for an instant 10 percent discount on qualifying purchases.

The newly introduced Flipkart Pay Later service offers three different repayment options to suit varying customer needs. The first option allows users to complete their purchases immediately and pay the full amount within 30 days, making it suitable for everyday shopping without immediate financial pressure.

For shoppers who prefer splitting their expenses, the second option called Pay in 3 divides the purchase amount into three manageable installments. This provides an interest friendly alternative for buyers looking to spread payments without committing to long term financing.

The third option is an EMI plan that allows customers to repay the purchase amount over a period ranging from three to twelve months. This option is particularly useful for buying high value products such as smartphones, consumer electronics, home appliances and furniture. Flipkart has also extended EMI availability to lower priced purchases across categories including fashion, beauty, home products and general merchandise on Flipkart Minutes.

The company developed the new credit offering in collaboration with PayU Finance, the non banking financial services arm of PayU. The partnership is aimed at providing a seamless digital credit experience while giving eligible customers greater financial flexibility during checkout.

Flipkart already supports multiple payment methods including UPI, digital wallets, credit cards, debit cards, net banking and standard EMI options. Customers can also redeem gift cards and vouchers during checkout, while cash on delivery continues to be available for selected products and eligible locations.

With the addition of Flipkart Pay Later, the ecommerce platform is strengthening its digital payments ecosystem by giving shoppers more control over how they manage their purchases. The new service is expected to appeal to users who want flexible repayment options without delaying their shopping plans, especially during major sale events when customers often purchase multiple products at once.
