Clever Duck Defeats Cruel Snake With Intelligence and Teaches a Lesson on Karma
A wise duck uses courage and smart planning to protect its family from a cruel snake, showing that evil actions eventually bring their own consequences.

In a peaceful forest surrounded by nature, a beautiful lake was home to many birds and animals. Near the lake stood a large banyan tree where crows, sparrows, parrots, and pigeons built their nests and lived happily with their young ones. The animals often visited the lake to drink water, creating a lively and peaceful environment.
However, danger was hiding beneath the same tree. A large black cobra lived inside an anthill at the base of the tree. The snake was known for its cruelty and greed. Every year, when the birds laid eggs and started raising their chicks, the snake would secretly watch their nests.
Whenever the parent birds left the tree in search of food, the cobra would climb up and eat the eggs or young chicks. When the birds returned in the evening, they found their nests empty and cried in sadness. At first, they believed their babies had fallen because of strong winds or other natural reasons. But after the same incident happened repeatedly, they realized that someone was destroying their nests.
One day, a few birds secretly observed the tree and discovered the truth. They saw the cobra coming out of its hiding place and attacking their nests. The birds became frightened and gathered together to discuss a solution. Some suggested moving to another tree, while others wanted to fight the snake. But everyone knew that fighting a poisonous cobra directly would be extremely dangerous.
Meanwhile, a pair of ducks living near the same lake also faced a similar problem. The female duck laid two eggs near the lake shore, and the couple went away briefly to search for food. The hidden cobra noticed the eggs, reached them quickly, and ate them before returning to its anthill.
When the ducks returned, they were shocked to find their eggs missing. The female duck felt that some other birds might have taken them, but the male duck suspected that there was another reason behind the disappearance. He decided to find out who was responsible.
The next day, the female duck laid two more eggs. Instead of leaving them unprotected, the duck couple watched over them carefully. Later, when they needed to search for food, they covered the eggs with grass and hid nearby to observe what happened.
As expected, the cobra came out of its anthill and moved toward the eggs. Thinking that it had fooled the ducks, the snake happily started eating them. But the ducks were secretly watching everything from behind a tree and finally discovered the truth.
The male duck then noticed an eagle drinking water near the lake. The ducks approached the eagle and explained their problem. After listening carefully, the eagle agreed to help them. Since snakes were natural prey for eagles, it promised to take care of the dangerous cobra.
The next day, the ducks repeated their plan. They placed the eggs and hid nearby while waiting for the snake. As soon as the cobra came out and moved toward the eggs, the eagle quickly grabbed it with its claws and flew high into the sky.
The snake struggled and tried to escape, but it could not free itself. The eagle carried it to a distant hill where the cobra finally met its end. Other eagles waiting there also attacked the snake, ending the threat permanently.
After the cobra disappeared, the ducks were able to protect their eggs safely. A few days later, two healthy ducklings hatched, bringing great happiness to the family. The other birds on the banyan tree were also relieved because they no longer had to fear losing their young ones.
The birds thanked the clever duck for saving their families. They praised its intelligence and planning, which helped them overcome a powerful enemy without unnecessary danger.
The story teaches an important lesson that intelligence and courage can overcome even the biggest challenges. Cruel actions and greed eventually lead to destruction, while patience, unity, and wise decisions help find solutions to difficult problems. True strength does not always come from power, but often from smart thinking and good judgment.
