Royal Enfield Plans Balanced Future With Petrol Bikes and New Electric Motorcycles

Royal Enfield is entering the electric motorcycle market with Flying Flea while continuing to invest in petrol bikes to offer riders more choices in the future.

Royal Enfield is preparing for the future with electric mobility while continuing strong investments in petrol motorcycles, aiming to offer riders more choices through innovation and premium design.

Royal Enfield is moving ahead with a balanced strategy by focusing on both traditional petrol motorcycles and upcoming electric models. The company has confirmed that while it is entering the electric vehicle segment through its new Flying Flea brand, petrol powered motorcycles will continue to remain a major part of its business plans.

According to the company’s latest annual report, Royal Enfield is adopting a rebalanced approach to meet changing customer expectations. The brand plans to develop new products across both electric and petrol categories, allowing riders to choose between conventional motorcycles and modern electric alternatives based on their needs.

Siddhartha Lal, Executive Chairman of Eicher Motors, said the company will continue investing in petrol motorcycles while preparing for the long term growth of electric mobility. He highlighted that Royal Enfield will focus on adopting new technologies while improving its existing motorcycle lineup to stay competitive in a changing automotive market.

The company also acknowledged that depending only on petrol motorcycles could create challenges in the future as the industry moves toward cleaner mobility solutions. However, Royal Enfield believes its strong brand identity, attractive designs, loyal customer base, and focus on technology will help it successfully adapt to market changes.

The newly introduced Flying Flea brand represents Royal Enfield’s entry into the electric motorcycle space. The company has clarified that Flying Flea models will not replace its existing petrol motorcycles but will work as an additional option for customers. This means the company will continue offering both electric and petrol motorcycles side by side in the coming years.

The first model under the electric focused brand is the Flying Flea C6, which has already been showcased ahead of its official market launch. Royal Enfield has also opened a dedicated showroom in Bengaluru and displayed the motorcycle across multiple cities to build awareness among potential buyers.

The Flying Flea C6 has been introduced with an ex showroom price of Rs. 2.79 lakh. Under the Battery as a Service BaaS program, the effective starting price is expected to be around Rs. 1.99 lakh. The electric motorcycle is designed to attract customers who are interested in a premium electric riding experience while maintaining Royal Enfield’s focus on style and performance.

Along with expanding its electric portfolio, Royal Enfield is also strengthening its global presence. Brazil has emerged as one of the company’s fastest growing international markets, while new assembly facilities in Bangladesh and Thailand are helping the brand increase its overseas production capabilities.

With a combination of electric innovation and continued investment in petrol motorcycles, Royal Enfield aims to maintain its strong position in the global motorcycle industry. The company’s dual approach reflects the changing needs of riders while protecting the legacy and popularity of its iconic motorcycle lineup.
