Ryan ten Doeschate Returns to Knight Riders in Global Strategy Role

Former India assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has begun a new chapter in his coaching career after accepting a senior position with the Knight Riders franchise. Shortly after stepping down from his role with the Indian team, the former Netherlands international was announced as the franchise’s new Head of Cricket Strategy.

In his new assignment, ten Doeschate will work across the Knight Riders’ global cricket network, contributing to long term planning, player identification, squad building, and performance analysis. His responsibilities will extend beyond a single tournament as the franchise continues to strengthen its presence in multiple international leagues.

Along with overseeing strategic planning, he will also serve as assistant coach for Trinbago Knight Riders in the Caribbean Premier League, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in the ILT20, and Los Angeles Knight Riders in Major League Cricket. The role is expected to connect coaching, analytics, and talent development across all Knight Riders teams.

Welcoming his return, Knight Riders Chief Executive Officer Venky Mysore said ten Doeschate already understands the franchise’s cricket philosophy and culture because of his previous association with the team. He added that the management believes his international coaching experience and deep knowledge of franchise cricket will play an important role in shaping the organization’s future.

Responding to the announcement, Ryan ten Doeschate said returning to the Knight Riders setup feels special. He noted that working closely with the coaching, scouting, and analytics departments offers an opportunity to strengthen the franchise’s talent pipeline while helping build competitive squads for the years ahead.

The appointment reflects Knight Riders’ continued focus on developing a unified cricket structure across its global teams by combining experienced coaching with data driven planning and long term player development.
