Prime Minister Modi Congratulates Skyroot Team After Vikram 1 Historic Success
Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the Skyroot Aerospace team after the successful Vikram 1 launch calling it a proud moment for India and an inspiration for young innovators nationwide.

The successful launch of the Vikram 1 rocket has become another defining milestone for India’s growing space ambitions. Following the achievement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi personally called the Skyroot Aerospace team to congratulate them and praised their contribution to the nation’s space journey.
Speaking to Skyroot Aerospace Chief Executive Officer and Co Founder Pawan Kumar Chandana, the Prime Minister described the accomplishment as a proud moment for the country. He said the team had not only strengthened India’s position in space exploration but had also inspired a new generation of young Indians to dream bigger and pursue innovation with confidence.
During the conversation, Pawan Kumar Chandana informed the Prime Minister that the average age of the Skyroot team is just 28 years. Modi responded by saying the success reflected the extraordinary talent of India’s youth and proved once again that young innovators have the ability to achieve remarkable milestones for the nation.
The Prime Minister also referred to the Agaman mission and described it as only the beginning of Skyroot’s journey. He expressed confidence that the company would continue delivering many more achievements and play an important role in shaping India’s future in the space sector.
The nearly nine minute interaction took place while the young scientists were celebrating at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre. The entire team listened to the Prime Minister’s message on speakerphone and welcomed his encouraging words with excitement and pride.
Pawan Kumar Chandana also shared that the handwritten Vande Mataram message sent earlier by the Prime Minister had travelled into space aboard the Vikram 1 rocket before the launch. The emotional moment added a special significance to the mission and highlighted the symbolic value attached to the historic flight.
Later, Prime Minister Modi shared his thoughts on X, calling the Vikram 1 mission a landmark achievement for India’s space sector. He said greater participation from private companies is creating fresh opportunities for innovation and technological progress. According to the Prime Minister, this success will encourage more young Indians to pursue bold ideas and contribute to the country’s expanding presence in space exploration.
