Sri Charani Makes ICC Team: The International Cricket Council has announced the Team of the Tournament for the recently concluded Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, with India’s young spinner Sri Charani emerging as one of the standout performers. She is the only Indian player to secure a place in the prestigious lineup after an impressive campaign.
Sri Charani enjoyed a remarkable tournament, claiming 14 wickets in just five matches at an outstanding average of 8.35. Her brilliant spell with the ball helped her set a new record as the highest wicket taking Indian bowler in a single edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup.
World champions Australia dominated the ICC Team of the Tournament, with five of their players earning selection. The Australian side secured its seventh Women’s T20 World Cup title by defeating England in the final, continuing its remarkable success on the global stage.
Australian wicketkeeper Beth Mooney was among the biggest stars of the tournament. She not only played a match winning innings in the final to receive the Player of the Match award but also claimed the Player of the Tournament honour after scoring 238 runs throughout the competition.
England opener Danni Wyatt Hodge finished as the tournament’s highest run scorer with 302 runs, delivering consistent performances despite her team’s defeat in the championship match. The ICC Team of the Tournament reflects the outstanding contributions of players who made a lasting impact during the Women’s T20 World Cup.
