Orphan Tops JEE: A story of resilience and determination has emerged from Telangana as an orphan student turned personal tragedy into an extraordinary academic achievement. Kundam Shiva from Yadadripalli village in Miryalaguda, Nalgonda district, has secured admission to the prestigious IIT Bombay after delivering an exceptional performance in the JEE Advanced examination.

Shiva secured All India Rank 211 in the General category and Rank 24 in the OBC category, earning a coveted seat in the BTech Computer Science and Engineering program at IIT Bombay. His achievement has drawn widespread appreciation from educators and local residents, who describe his journey as a powerful example of perseverance.

His path to success was marked by immense personal hardship. Shiva lost his mother, Jyothi, to illness eight years ago. A few years later, his father, Srinu, died while working in an underground drainage system. Left without parents, Shiva and his younger sister Mallika were raised by their maternal uncle, Nomula Nagaraju, who took responsibility for their education and upbringing despite financial challenges.

Recognizing the siblings’ academic talent, the management of Aditya School in Miryalaguda extended financial support by offering fee concessions, free accommodation, and quality education. After completing school, Shiva’s dedication caught the attention of Narayana IIT Academy in Hyderabad, which provided him with free JEE coaching. Faculty members, including Core Dean Venkat Reddy, mentored him throughout his preparation.

Determined to honor the faith shown by his guardian and teachers, Shiva devoted himself to his studies with unwavering focus. Instead of allowing personal loss to define his future, he transformed adversity into motivation. His remarkable success stands as an inspiring reminder that determination, hard work, and timely support can overcome even the toughest circumstances.
