Redmi Pad 2 Gets Price Hike in India as Rising Memory Costs Push Tablet Prices Higher
Xiaomi has increased the Redmi Pad 2 price in India by Rs 1000 with revised rates now effective while the tablet continues offering premium features and AI capabilities.

Buying the Redmi Pad 2 in India has now become more expensive. Xiaomi has officially increased the tablet’s price by Rs 1000, with the revised pricing coming into effect from June 29, 2026. The move follows a broader industry trend where rising memory and storage component costs have pushed several smartphone, tablet, and laptop manufacturers to revise product prices.
According to the updated pricing, the Redmi Pad 2 with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage in the Wi Fi variant now costs Rs 17999 instead of its earlier price of Rs 16999. The new price has already been implemented on Xiaomi’s official sales channels, although some retailers may continue selling existing stock at the previous price until inventories are cleared.
Industry observers note that increasing costs of memory chips have affected electronics manufacturers across multiple categories. As component prices continue to rise, brands have gradually started passing a portion of the additional expense to consumers through revised pricing.
Despite the price increase, the Redmi Pad 2 continues to offer a competitive set of specifications. The tablet features an 11 inch display with 2.5K resolution, delivering sharp visuals for entertainment, reading, and everyday productivity. It runs on Android 15 based HyperOS 2.0, providing users with Xiaomi’s latest software experience.
Performance is handled by the MediaTek Helio G100 Ultra processor, designed to deliver smooth multitasking and reliable day to day performance. The tablet is backed by a large 9000mAh battery, which supports 18W wired charging for extended usage between charges.
For photography and video calls, the Redmi Pad 2 includes an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. While cameras are not the primary focus of tablets, the setup is suitable for online meetings, document scanning, and casual photography.
Audio is another strong point of the device. Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi Pad 2 with a quad speaker system that supports Dolby Atmos, offering an immersive sound experience for movies, music, and gaming.
The tablet also includes a wide range of connectivity features, including 4G support on supported variants, Wi Fi, Bluetooth, a USB Type C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It is compatible with the Smart Pen, making it useful for note taking, sketching, and creative work.
Xiaomi has further enhanced the user experience by adding AI powered features such as Google Circle to Search and Gemini AI support. These tools are designed to improve productivity by enabling smarter search functions and AI assisted tasks directly on the device.
Although the Redmi Pad 2 now carries a higher price tag, its combination of a large high resolution display, long battery life, capable hardware, immersive audio, and modern AI features continues to make it a strong contender in the midrange tablet segment.
