India bowed out of the Women's T20 World Cup after Australia completed a six wicket chase at Lord's despite Harmanpreet Kaur's explosive half century and a strong batting display.

Australia Knock Out India: India’s Women’s T20 World Cup journey came to a disappointing end after Australia registered a comfortable six wicket victory in a crucial contest at Lord’s. The result knocked India out of the tournament while pushing Australia closer to a place in the semifinals.
After winning the toss, India chose to bat first and finished with a competitive total of 170 for 4. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma gave the innings a confident start before captain Harmanpreet Kaur produced a powerful finish with an unbeaten 56 from just 27 balls, striking six fours and three sixes.
Australia faced early pressure after losing wickets in the chase, giving India hope of defending the target. However, experienced campaigners Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner turned the game around with a composed and attacking partnership.
Perry scored 56 while Gardner remained unbeaten on 53 as the pair added a match winning 100 run stand for the fourth wicket. Australia reached the target in 19 overs with four wickets down, sealing an impressive victory.
Despite moments of brilliance from India’s top order and captain Harmanpreet Kaur, the team could not halt Australia’s comeback. The defeat marked the end of India’s campaign, while Australia strengthened its position as one of the leading contenders for the Women’s T20 World Cup title.
