Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock over the Krishna River boat accident in Palnadu district and announced financial assistance while directing a detailed investigation into the incident.

Krishna Boat Tragedy Ex Gratia Announced: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has expressed deep sorrow over the boat accident in the Krishna River near Konuru in Palnadu district that claimed four lives. Soon after learning about the tragedy, the Chief Minister reviewed the situation with district officials and senior authorities through a teleconference while on an official visit to Singapore.

To support the families of those who lost their lives, the Chief Minister announced an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh for each victim’s family. He assured that the state government would stand by the affected families and provide all necessary assistance during this difficult time.

Officials informed the Chief Minister that six other passengers who were travelling in the boat survived the accident safely. Rescue and relief operations were closely monitored by the administration following the incident.

Chandrababu directed authorities to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the cause of the accident. He ordered a joint inquiry involving Revenue, Police, and Irrigation Department officials to determine the circumstances that led to the boat overturning.

The responsibility of supervising relief measures and follow up actions has been entrusted to Disaster Management Director Prakhar Jain, Information Department Director Viswanath, and the district administration. The Chief Minister also instructed officials to identify safety lapses and implement strict measures to prevent similar accidents in the future.
