Visakhapatnam Steel Plant: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic accident at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant that claimed the lives of nine workers. Calling the incident heartbreaking, he conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery for those injured in the mishap.
In response to the tragedy, the Prime Minister announced financial assistance from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund. The families of each deceased worker will receive an ex gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh, while those injured in the accident will be provided Rs 50,000 as support.
The Prime Minister also stated that the government stands firmly with the affected families during this difficult period. He noted that local authorities are extending all possible assistance to the victims and their relatives.
The accident occurred on Sunday evening when a ladle containing molten steel reportedly exploded inside the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. The blast resulted in the deaths of nine workers and left several others injured, triggering concern across the region. The incident has drawn attention to industrial safety measures and emergency response systems within heavy manufacturing facilities.
