RCB Defeat Gujarat Titans to Clinch Back to Back IPL Titles
Royal Challengers Bengaluru successfully defended their IPL crown with a dominant victory over Gujarat Titans, as Virat Kohli's unbeaten knock guided the team to another championship triumph.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru continued their dream run in the Indian Premier League by securing a second consecutive title with a convincing victory over Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2026 final. The defending champions once again proved their dominance, lifting the trophy after a composed all round performance in Ahmedabad.
Chasing a target of 156, RCB received a flying start from Virat Kohli and Venkatesh Iyer. The opening pair put the pressure on Gujarat’s bowlers early in the innings, laying a strong foundation for the chase. Although wickets fell at regular intervals later, Kohli remained calm and anchored the innings until the finish.
The former RCB captain delivered another match winning performance, scoring an unbeaten 75 off 42 balls. His controlled yet aggressive innings ensured that Bengaluru stayed ahead of the required rate despite losing a few middle order wickets. Kohli’s presence at the crease ultimately guided the team to victory and another memorable title celebration.
Earlier, Gujarat Titans struggled to build momentum after being asked to bat first. Their top order failed to make a significant impact, putting the team under pressure in the crucial final. A fighting half century from Washington Sundar helped Gujarat recover and post 155 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs.
RCB captain Rajat Patidar’s decision to bowl first paid off as his bowlers consistently picked up wickets and prevented Gujarat from posting a bigger total. The disciplined bowling effort played a key role in restricting the opposition and setting up the successful chase.
With the victory, Royal Challengers Bengaluru added another historic chapter to their journey. After ending their long wait for a maiden IPL title last season, the franchise has now established itself as one of the league’s strongest teams by successfully defending the championship.
For Gujarat Titans, the defeat marked another disappointing finish in a title clash. After winning the trophy in their debut season and reaching multiple finals, they were once again denied championship glory on the biggest stage.
