India Asian Games Gold: India Wins Another Gold at Asian Games
India’s women’s 4x400m relay team secured gold at the Asian Games, while Gulveer Singh added another medal, taking the country’s overall tally to 52.
India Asian Games Gold: India added another gold medal to its Asian Games campaign as the women’s 4x400m relay team finished first in the final.
The Indian quartet of Kiran Pahal, Poovamma Machettira, Prachi and Vithya Ramraj completed the race in 3:29.69. Bahrain finished second, while China took the third spot.
The victory also gave India its first gold medal in athletics at these Asian Games. The men’s 4x400m relay team contributed a bronze, further adding to the country’s medal count.
With these results, India’s overall tally moved to 52 medals, including six gold, 21 silver and 25 bronze.
Gulveer Singh was another Indian athlete to make headlines. He won bronze in the men’s 5,000m, adding to the two silver medals he had already collected in the 1,500m and 10,000m events.
The latest result gave Gulveer three medals in the same edition of the Games. He also became only the second Indian male athlete to win three track and field medals in a single Asian Games edition.
India’s athletics campaign has therefore produced several notable performances, with the women’s relay team’s gold and Gulveer’s three-medal run adding to the country’s strong showing.
