The accident happened near Naspur Gate when the lorry was travelling towards Mancherial town. The auto was carrying several passengers when the two vehicles collided. The impact was severe, leaving two women dead at the spot.
People in the area rushed towards the vehicle after hearing about the crash and helped the injured passengers. The victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Doctors said the condition of three people was serious.
Police reached the scene after receiving information and began collecting details about the accident. The two women who died were identified as Atthali Soundarya and Chintakunta Lakshmi, both from Gudipelli village in Mandamarri mandal.
According to police, the passengers were employed at a shopping mall in Mancherial town. They were travelling towards the district headquarters for work when the accident occurred.
The crash caused concern among residents near Naspur Gate, where traffic movement continued as police examined the vehicles and gathered information about what happened.
The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the Naspur government hospital for postmortem examination. Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances that led to the collision.
Officials are also collecting statements from the injured passengers and others who witnessed the incident. The exact cause of the crash will be established after the investigation is completed.
