Vivo Y600i Listing Reveals Large Display and 8000mAh Battery

Vivo appears to be preparing another smartphone for its Y series, with the Vivo Y600i surfacing on the China Telecom website. The listing has revealed several expected specifications and design details, although Vivo has not yet officially announced the phone.

The smartphone has appeared with the model number V2617A and could be positioned as a new option in the companys Y series. Based on the available listing, the Vivo Y600i may sit between the Vivo Y600 Pro and Vivo Y600 Turbo in the lineup.

One of the biggest changes could be the battery. The Vivo Y600i is expected to feature an 8000mAh battery, which would give the phone a substantial capacity for its segment. A battery of this size could be aimed at users who spend long hours watching videos, browsing the internet, using social media and handling other everyday tasks.

The display is also expected to be one of the phones main attractions. The China Telecom listing points to a 6.87 inch screen, making it larger than the 6.75 inch panel used on the Vivo Y500i. However, details about the resolution and refresh rate of the new display have not yet been revealed.

Performance could be handled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset. Interestingly, this is the same processor used in the Vivo Y500i, suggesting that Vivo may be focusing more on other areas such as battery capacity and overall design rather than making a major chipset upgrade.

The camera setup could receive a noticeable improvement. The Vivo Y600i is expected to have a 50 megapixel primary camera on the rear, while an 8 megapixel front camera could be used for selfies and video calls. The higher resolution front camera would represent an upgrade over the 5 megapixel selfie camera found on the Vivo Y500i.

Images associated with the listing show a raised camera section on the rear panel. The module appears to contain two circular camera areas along with an LED flash, giving the phone a different visual identity compared with its predecessor.

Software is another detail mentioned in the listing. The Vivo Y600i is expected to run Android 16, although the exact software interface and final software configuration may be confirmed only when Vivo officially launches the device.

The listing also gives potential buyers an idea about the storage options. The phone could be available with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, along with a 6 GB RAM and 256 GB storage configuration. A separate China Mobile edition with 6 GB RAM and 256 GB storage has also appeared in the listing.

Vivo may offer the Y600i in three colour options. The reported choices are Sky Blue, Starry Sky and Polar Night Black. These colours could give the phone a mix of lighter and darker finishes, although the final names and availability may vary when the handset is officially introduced.

The Vivo Y600i is expected to build on the features of the Vivo Y500i, which was launched earlier this year. The Y500i comes with a 6.75 inch HD Plus LCD display supporting a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1570 by 720 pixels.

The older model also uses the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and runs Android 16 based OriginOS 6. Its rear camera setup includes a 50 megapixel primary sensor with autofocus, while the front camera has a 5 megapixel sensor.

Battery capacity has been a key feature of the Y500i as well. That smartphone carries a 7200mAh battery with support for 44W FlashCharge. The expected 8000mAh battery on the Vivo Y600i would therefore represent another increase in capacity.

At this stage, Vivo has not confirmed the official launch date, pricing or complete specifications of the Y600i. Details such as display resolution, refresh rate, charging speed and the exact camera configuration are also still awaited.

The China Telecom appearance nevertheless suggests that the phone could be moving closer to an official announcement. If Vivo retains the large battery approach of the Y500i while adding a bigger display and improved front camera, the Y600i could become another battery focused model in the companys Y series.

For now, the 6.87 inch display, Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, 8000mAh battery, 50 megapixel rear camera and Android 16 are among the key details associated with the upcoming Vivo Y600i. More information is likely to emerge when Vivo officially reveals the smartphone.
