Affordable 4G Plans Shake Up Budget Segment as Reliance Jio Expands Offerings

Reliance Jio introduces budget friendly 4G feature phone plans with extended validity, daily data, unlimited calling, and SMS benefits, aiming to make connectivity more accessible for millions of users nationwide

In a move aimed at strengthening its grip on the budget telecom segment, Reliance Jio has rolled out a refreshed lineup of 4G recharge plans tailored specifically for feature phone users. The updated portfolio, now branded as 4G feature phone plans, spans a wide price range, starting from just 21 rupees and going up to long term options designed for nearly a full year of usage.

The highlight of the announcement is the introduction of plans that combine affordability with practical benefits. Users can now access daily data, unlimited voice calling, and SMS services without needing frequent recharges. This strategy appears to target users who rely on keypad based devices but still want reliable internet access and uninterrupted communication.

Among the entry level offerings, the 21 rupee plan stands out for its ultra low cost. Designed mainly for new users, it provides a short validity period of four days along with limited daily data and calling benefits. While modest, it offers a quick and economical way to stay connected.

For those seeking a more balanced option, the 123 rupee plan delivers a 28 day validity period with steady daily data usage and messaging benefits. It also includes access to entertainment services through apps like JioTV and JioSaavn, adding extra value beyond basic connectivity.

Mid tier users are likely to find the 234 rupee and 369 rupee plans more appealing, as they extend validity to 56 days and 84 days respectively. These plans maintain the same daily data structure but reduce the hassle of frequent recharges, making them practical for regular users.

At the top end, the 1234 rupee plan is positioned as a long term solution. With a validity of 336 days, it caters to users who prefer a one time recharge for the entire year. The plan combines consistent daily data with unlimited calling and SMS benefits, making it one of the most comprehensive offerings in this category.

In addition to standard plans, the telecom provider has also introduced data add on packs. These are designed for users who may exhaust their daily data quota and need additional internet access without changing their primary plan. Options vary in pricing and data limits, giving users flexibility based on their needs.

Industry observers note that this move reflects a broader push to bring digital services to users who are still on basic devices. By combining affordability with long validity and bundled benefits, Reliance Jio is attempting to bridge the gap between feature phones and smartphones, ensuring that even entry level users can stay connected in an increasingly digital world.
