YSRCP Resignation: The YSR Congress Party has suffered a political setback in North Andhra ahead of the local body elections, with Majji Srinivasa Rao announcing his resignation from the party.

Srinivasa Rao, popularly known as Chinna Srinu, is the nephew of former minister and YSRCP Legislative Council opposition leader Botsa Satyanarayana. He has sent his resignation letter to YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

His exit covers more than just his primary membership of the party. Srinivasa Rao has also stepped down as YSRCP president for Vizianagaram district and as the party’s in charge for the Bheemili constituency. He currently serves as Vizianagaram Zilla Parishad chairman as well.

The resignation has drawn attention because of reports of differences between Srinivasa Rao and Botsa Satyanarayana over the past few months. Political circles in the region have been discussing the reported cold war between the two leaders.

There have also been allegations that Botsa had been trying to reduce his nephew’s influence within the party. Against this backdrop, Chinna Srinu’s decision to leave YSRCP has added to speculation about the political developments in the region.

His next move is already becoming a subject of discussion. There are reports that Srinivasa Rao could join the Telugu Desam Party. He is also expected to meet Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu soon, though no official confirmation about his next political move has been made yet.
