AP Government to Fill 913 ASHA Worker Jobs With Class 10 Qualification

There is fresh recruitment news for women looking for employment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh. The state health department is getting ready to fill 913 vacant ASHA worker posts across different parts of the state.
Health Minister Satya Kumar said the recruitment should be completed by the end of September. The appointments will be made through district health societies, with the respective district collectors heading the process.
Women who have completed Class 10 can apply for these positions. The age limit has been fixed at 25 to 45 years. Another important condition is that women from the concerned village or ward will be given preference.
This local preference is expected to make the process more practical at the ground level. ASHA workers regularly interact with people in their communities, help connect families with healthcare facilities and support various public health activities.
Women selected for the posts will receive a monthly honorarium of Rs 10,000. While the positions are not regular government jobs in the conventional sense, the recruitment could provide a useful employment opportunity for eligible women while adding more frontline workers to the health system.
The latest announcement is also part of a larger recruitment effort already undertaken by the state. According to Satya Kumar, the government has previously filled 1,294 ASHA worker positions across Andhra Pradesh.
Now, another 913 vacancies have been approved. The minister said the government wants to complete the appointments quickly and use the additional workforce to improve healthcare delivery in communities.
The need for ASHA workers is particularly important in areas where residents depend heavily on nearby public health services. Having workers who live in or belong to the same local community can make communication easier and help people access available healthcare programmes.
