Uzbekistan Announces 30 Day Visa Free Entry for Indians

Uzbekistan has announced a 30 day visa free facility for Indian citizens, offering a significant boost to people planning to travel to the Central Asian country.

The announcement was made by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two day visit to Uzbekistan. The decision was unveiled during delegation level talks in Tashkent.

Once the new system is fully implemented, Indian passport holders will be able to visit Uzbekistan without obtaining a visa and stay for up to 30 days, according to the announcement.

President Mirziyoyev said the move is expected to encourage stronger tourism, business and commercial links between India and Uzbekistan. He also highlighted the importance of improving people to people connectivity between the two countries.

During the talks, Mirziyoyev described India as a trusted strategic partner and pointed to the steady expansion of bilateral economic relations. He noted that trade between the two countries crossed 1 billion dollars for the first time in 2025.

The Uzbek president also said the number of joint ventures between India and Uzbekistan has increased sevenfold in recent years. At present, the two countries are connected by 14 direct flights every week, further supporting travel and business activity.

The new visa free arrangement is expected to make travel easier for Indian visitors and could open more opportunities for tourism, trade and commercial partnerships between the two countries.
