Samsung Galaxy Quantum 7 Launched With 50MP Triple Camera and IP68 Rating

Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Quantum 7 in South Korea, bringing a feature packed smartphone with a large AMOLED display, triple rear cameras and a focus on security. The phone is positioned in the upper mid range segment and comes with several features designed for everyday users.

The Galaxy Quantum 7 is priced at KRW 717,200 in South Korea, which converts to roughly Rs 49,600. The smartphone is being offered through SK Telecom and comes in Awesome Gray, Awesome Ice Blue and Awesome Lilac colour options.

One of the main highlights is its 6.7 inch Super AMOLED display. The panel offers Full HD Plus resolution and supports a 120Hz refresh rate, making scrolling and everyday navigation smoother. Samsung has also included its latest One UI 8.5 software along with a collection of artificial intelligence features under the Awesome Intelligence branding.

Users get tools such as Circle to Search, AI Eraser, Best Face and Edit Suggestions. These features are aimed at making search, photo editing and other routine tasks easier without requiring separate applications.

Photography is another important part of the Galaxy Quantum 7. The rear camera setup consists of three sensors, led by a 50 megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilisation. It is accompanied by a 12 megapixel ultra wide camera and a 5 megapixel macro camera.

For selfies and video calls, Samsung has equipped the phone with a 12 megapixel front camera. The combination gives the device a versatile camera setup for everyday photography, wider landscape shots and close up images.

Powering the smartphone is Samsung’s Exynos 1680 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone also carries a 5000mAh battery, which Samsung claims can provide up to around two days of usage under suitable conditions. Fast charging support is also included.

Samsung has placed considerable emphasis on durability and security. The Galaxy Quantum 7 carries an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, while Knox Vault provides an additional layer of hardware based security for sensitive information.

The phone uses a USB Type C port for charging and connectivity. Another notable promise is long term software support, with Samsung stating that the device will receive up to six years of operating system upgrades and six years of security updates.

The Galaxy Quantum 7 is also being described as a rebranded version of the Galaxy A57 5G. That connection makes the new model particularly interesting, as Samsung is using the Quantum branding and SK Telecom distribution in South Korea while retaining a familiar hardware foundation.

For buyers looking beyond headline specifications, the combination of a 120Hz Super AMOLED screen, stabilised 50 megapixel camera, large battery, IP68 protection and extended software support gives the Galaxy Quantum 7 a well rounded package.

Samsung has so far launched the device in South Korea, and the company has not announced details about availability in other markets. Its international launch plans, if any, are expected to become clearer later.
