Xiaomi Launches Smart 8KG Washer Dryer With Steam Cleaning Technology

Xiaomi has expanded its smart home appliance portfolio with the launch of the new Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer featuring an 8KG washing capacity. The latest appliance combines both washing and drying functions in a single compact unit, aiming to deliver convenience and advanced fabric care for modern households.

The newly launched washer dryer has been introduced in the European market and comes packed with several smart features designed to improve hygiene, efficiency and user comfort. Xiaomi says the machine is capable of eliminating up to 99.99 percent of bacteria using its high temperature steam cleaning system, making it suitable for families looking for better hygiene during laundry cycles.

One of the major highlights of the machine is its intelligent drying technology. Xiaomi has equipped the washer dryer with internal sensors that monitor temperature and moisture levels in real time. According to the company, this system helps prevent overheating and reduces the risk of fabric damage during drying sessions. The feature is especially useful for delicate clothing that requires controlled heat management.

The washer dryer includes a large 525mm drum and supports power wash technology for stronger cleaning performance. Xiaomi says the machine optimizes water flow and washing power to improve stain removal while maintaining fabric quality.

To make daily use easier, the appliance offers 30 different washing programs, including a quick 15 minute wash mode for lightly soiled clothes. Users can operate the machine through a color touch control panel, while smart connectivity support allows remote access through the Xiaomi Home app.

Using the app, users can customize washing settings, manage cycles remotely and receive OTA software updates directly for improved performance over time. Xiaomi has also added a one tap wash and dry feature that simplifies the entire laundry process with a single command.

In terms of pricing, the Xiaomi Mijia Front Load Washer Dryer 8KG has been launched at EUR 539, which roughly converts to around Rs 60000. The appliance is currently available through the company’s official website in select European markets.

With smart controls, advanced hygiene features and intelligent drying support, Xiaomi appears to be targeting users looking for premium laundry solutions with connected home functionality.
