Xiaomi Launches Smart 13Kg Washer Dryer With Steam Cleaning and Voice Control

Xiaomi has expanded its smart home appliance lineup in China with the launch of a new high capacity washer dryer combo under the Mijia branding. The latest model comes with a long official name but focuses heavily on practical features such as steam cleaning, smart detergent management and remote mobile controls.

The company has introduced the appliance as the Mijia Washing Machine Pro Extreme Edition Super Electrolytic Smart Dosing Washer Dryer 13kg. Designed mainly for larger households, the machine supports up to 13kg washing capacity and 9kg drying capacity, making it suitable for heavy laundry loads including blankets, winter clothing and family sized washing needs.

Xiaomi has priced the new washer dryer at around Rs 59000 in the Chinese market. The product is currently available for pre order through Xiaomi YouPin, though the company has not yet confirmed plans for global or Indian availability.

One of the biggest highlights of the machine is its electrolysis based cleaning system. According to Xiaomi, the technology produces active oxygen molecules that help remove difficult stains from fabrics more effectively. The company claims the machine can tackle stubborn marks such as soy sauce and blood stains while also helping preserve fabric brightness and reducing color fading during repeated washes.

The washer dryer also puts strong focus on hygiene and sanitization. Xiaomi has included a high temperature steam cleaning system along with electrolyzed cold water technology. The company says this setup helps reduce bacteria, viruses and microscopic dust particles from clothing, an increasingly important feature for health conscious users.

To improve day to day convenience, Xiaomi has added a Smart Auto Dosing system. Instead of manually adding detergent during every wash cycle, the machine automatically calculates the required amount based on clothing weight and dirt levels. Xiaomi claims a single detergent tank refill can last nearly a month under normal household use.

The machine comes loaded with 31 dedicated washing modes tailored for different fabric types and cleaning situations. These include special programs for wool garments, winter jackets and even pet hair removal. Xiaomi has also introduced an Air Wash mode that uses steam to reduce wrinkles and unwanted odors from clothes without a full washing cycle.

For users looking for faster laundry routines, the appliance offers a Fast Wash feature capable of completing a wash cycle in around 36 minutes. Xiaomi says the machine also delivers improved washing performance with a wash ratio of 1.3, which the company describes as better than standard models in its category.

Smart connectivity is another major part of the new appliance. The washer dryer supports Xiaomi HyperOS and works with the Mi Home app, allowing users to control wash cycles remotely through smartphones. Users can monitor progress, schedule operations and adjust settings directly from the app.

Xiaomi has also integrated voice command support and OTA software updates, bringing the appliance closer to the company’s broader smart home ecosystem. As smart appliances continue gaining popularity, Xiaomi appears to be targeting buyers who want automation, hygiene focused features and large capacity performance in a single connected machine.
