Vivo X Fold 6 May Launch in International Markets Soon

Vivo appears to be getting closer to expanding its latest foldable smartphone beyond China. The Vivo X Fold 6 has surfaced on Geekbench with model number V2559, and the listing is believed to represent the international version of the device.

The Geekbench appearance comes after the same model number was reportedly spotted on certification platforms in Thailand and Indonesia. These developments suggest that Vivo could be preparing the X Fold 6 for markets outside China, although the company has not yet announced a global launch date.

The benchmark listing gives some useful information about the expected international model. It is shown with 12GB of RAM and an octa core MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor. The device reportedly scored 1710 points in the single core test and 5977 points in the multi core test.

One detail that stands out is the software. The Geekbench listing shows Android 17, which could make the international X Fold 6 one of the earlier Vivo smartphones to arrive with the newer Android version. The Chinese model, in comparison, runs OriginOS 6 Fold based on Android 16.

The X Fold 6 was introduced in China earlier this year and comes with hardware aimed squarely at the premium foldable segment. Its large battery is one of the notable features. The smartphone packs a 7000mAh battery, giving Vivo an opportunity to compete with other high end foldable devices where battery endurance remains an important consideration.

Display size is another major attraction. The Chinese version features an 8.02 inch inner AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2504 by 2312 pixels. The panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 300Hz touch sampling rate, making it suitable for gaming as well as everyday multimedia use.

When folded, users get a 6.51 inch AMOLED cover display with a resolution of 1120 by 2528 pixels. Having a large external screen allows the phone to be used for regular tasks without opening the main display every time.

Photography is another area where Vivo has equipped the X Fold 6 with premium hardware. The rear camera system carries a 200 megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation. It is joined by a 50 megapixel ultrawide camera and another 50 megapixel periscope telephoto camera.

The camera system also carries Zeiss branding, continuing Vivo focus on camera performance in its flagship devices. The periscope telephoto sensor should provide additional flexibility when photographing distant subjects, while the ultrawide camera can be used for wider scenes.

For selfies and video calls, the Chinese version has a 20 megapixel camera on both the inner and outer displays. The phone can also record video at resolutions of up to 8K, adding a high resolution recording option for users who want to capture detailed footage.

Performance could remain largely similar between the Chinese and international versions, although Vivo may make software or regional configuration changes before releasing the phone in other markets. The Geekbench listing confirms the presence of the Dimensity 9500 platform in the tested device, but it does not by itself establish every final specification.

The international launch possibility has gained more attention following certification activity. The model V2559 was reportedly listed with Thailand NBTC and Indonesia SDPPI, adding to the indications that Vivo is preparing the device for wider availability.

India could also be among the markets considered for the new foldable. Reports suggest that Vivo may introduce the X Fold 6 in India next month, but there is currently no confirmed launch date from the company.

If the international launch takes place as expected, Vivo X Fold 6 will enter a market that has become more competitive with the arrival of newer foldable smartphones. The device could face competition from products such as the Apple iPhone Duo and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, depending on their availability and pricing in individual markets.

Vivo has not yet revealed international pricing or confirmed whether the specifications of the Chinese model will remain unchanged globally. These details will be important because the foldable category remains heavily influenced by pricing, software support, durability and camera capabilities.

For now, the Geekbench listing and recent certification appearances provide the strongest signs that Vivo is preparing the X Fold 6 for markets outside China. The combination of a large battery, high resolution displays, flagship MediaTek hardware and Zeiss cameras gives the device a strong specification sheet.

More information is expected as Vivo moves closer to its international announcement. Until the company officially confirms the launch, however, the reported India launch timing and other regional details should be treated as unconfirmed.
