VinFast VF8 Electric SUV Gets Major Upgrade With Claimed 500 Kilometre Range
VinFast has introduced an updated VF8 electric SUV with fresh styling improved cabin technology advanced safety features and a claimed driving range of nearly 500 kilometres on a single charge

Vietnamese electric vehicle maker VinFast has unveiled a refreshed version of its VF8 electric SUV, bringing notable upgrades in design, technology and driving performance. The company says the updated model has been developed to offer a more premium driving experience while also improving efficiency and comfort for daily users.
One of the biggest highlights of the new VF8 is its claimed driving range of nearly 500 kilometres. The electric SUV is powered by a 60.13 kWh battery pack paired with a front mounted electric motor that produces 228 hp power and 330 Nm torque. According to reports, the battery can be charged from 10 percent to 70 percent in less than 30 minutes, making it suitable for both city driving and long distance travel.
The company has also added multiple driving modes including Eco, Normal and Sport to give drivers more flexibility based on road conditions and driving preferences. These modes are expected to improve both performance and battery management depending on how the vehicle is being used.
The exterior of the VF8 receives a more futuristic look compared to the earlier version. At the front, the SUV features wing inspired LED daytime running lights connected through a V shaped lighting element. The bumper now gets larger air channels aimed at improving aerodynamic efficiency. Freshly designed alloy wheels and revised rear styling further enhance the road presence of the electric SUV. The connected V shaped tail lamps at the rear add a distinctive identity to the vehicle.
Inside the cabin, VinFast has focused heavily on comfort and technology. The VF8 comes with a redesigned dashboard featuring a large 12.9 inch touchscreen infotainment system and a separate digital display for the driver. The cabin also includes a two spoke steering wheel and a steering column mounted gear selector, giving the interior a cleaner and more modern appearance.
The feature list is extensive and clearly targets buyers looking for a premium electric SUV experience. The vehicle includes dual zone climate control with air purification, powered front seats, reclining rear seats, wireless connected technology and voice assistant support. An eight speaker audio system has also been added to improve in cabin entertainment.
Safety has been another key area of focus in the upgraded VF8. The SUV is equipped with advanced driver assistance systems, highway assist technology and a 360 degree camera setup. These features are designed to improve driver confidence and provide better safety during urban as well as highway driving.
Dimension wise, the VF8 measures 4,701 mm in length, 1,872 mm in width and 1,670 mm in height. The overall proportions place it firmly in the premium midsize electric SUV category, where competition is rapidly increasing across global markets.
VinFast has been steadily expanding its electric vehicle portfolio in recent months. The company had also launched the VF MPV 7 in India recently with a starting ex showroom price of Rs 24.49 lakh. That model too carries the brand’s signature EV styling language with LED DRLs, vertically positioned headlamps and a modern front fascia.
Industry observers believe the upgraded VF8 could help VinFast strengthen its position in the growing global EV segment, especially among buyers looking for feature rich electric SUVs with long range capabilities and modern technology.
