Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra Leak Hints at Major Camera Upgrade and New Battery Tech

Early leaks of Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra suggest a powerful camera overhaul with shared sensors improved zoom system and possible silicon carbon battery technology for next generation flagship experience

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 series is already generating strong buzz even though its official launch is still months away. Early leaks around the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra suggest that the company is preparing one of its biggest upgrades in recent years, especially in the camera and battery departments. With competition from top tier flagship devices in the market, Samsung appears ready to push its premium lineup further.

Interestingly, reports indicate that both the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra may share a similar core camera setup. The primary and ultra wide sensors are expected to remain identical across both models, while the key difference could come from the telephoto system. This approach suggests Samsung is focusing more on refining image consistency rather than completely changing hardware across the lineup.

The Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to be the compact flagship option with a display size of around 6.5 inches. In comparison, the Galaxy S27 Ultra may feature a much larger 6.9 inch screen and continue supporting the S Pen, a signature feature of Samsung’s premium Ultra series. The zoom capabilities are also expected to differ, with the Ultra potentially offering up to 5x periscope zoom while the Pro may settle around 3x to 4x zoom levels.

A major talking point from the leak is the possible camera restructuring on the Ultra model. Instead of a dedicated 3x telephoto lens, Samsung may shift toward in sensor cropping technology combined with a more streamlined triple camera setup. At the center of this system could be a new 200 megapixel primary sensor, possibly based on a 1/1.3 inch ISOCELL HP6 sensor. The same imaging philosophy may also extend to the S27 Pro model.

Beyond cameras, Samsung could introduce a significant battery innovation with the Galaxy S27 series. Reports suggest the company may adopt silicon carbon battery technology for the first time in its flagship lineup. This shift could allow higher battery capacities without increasing device thickness, addressing one of the most requested improvements from Samsung users in recent years.

The move becomes even more important as several Chinese smartphone brands are already pushing massive battery sizes, with some devices reaching near power bank level capacities. In comparison, Samsung has traditionally been more conservative in battery sizing, which has often drawn criticism. With silicon carbon technology, the brand may finally be preparing to close that gap while maintaining its premium design standards.
