Redmi 17C Debuts With Eye Friendly Display and Long Lasting Battery at Budget Price
Redmi has introduced the new Redmi 17C with a smooth 120Hz display, Android 16 software, dependable battery life, and essential features aimed at everyday users seeking value and comfort

Redmi has expanded its budget smartphone lineup with the launch of the Redmi 17C, a device designed for users who want reliable performance without spending a premium amount. The new smartphone enters the entry level segment with a focus on smooth visuals, long battery life, and a user friendly software experience.
One of the biggest highlights of the Redmi 17C is its large 6.88 inch LCD display. The screen supports a 120Hz refresh rate, making scrolling, social media browsing, and everyday navigation feel smoother than traditional budget smartphones. Redmi has also included eye care focused certifications such as Low Blue Light, Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly standards, aiming to reduce strain during extended usage sessions.
The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G81 Ultra processor, a chipset built to handle common tasks such as video streaming, web browsing, social networking, and light gaming. While it is not positioned as a high performance gaming phone, it is expected to provide a stable experience for daily activities.
Running on Android 16 based HyperOS 3, the Redmi 17C offers users access to the latest software features and system optimizations. The updated operating system is designed to improve overall responsiveness while maintaining a clean and efficient user experience.
Battery performance is another area where the device aims to impress. Redmi has equipped the phone with a 5160mAh battery supported by 18W fast charging. This combination is expected to comfortably last through a full day of normal usage, making it suitable for students, working professionals, and casual smartphone users.
For photography, the Redmi 17C features a 13 megapixel rear camera designed for everyday snapshots and social media sharing. On the front, a 5 megapixel camera handles selfies and video calls. The camera setup focuses on simplicity rather than advanced photography features.
The handset also includes several practical connectivity options. Users get Wi Fi 5 support, Bluetooth 5.4, a side mounted fingerprint scanner for security, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and 4G network compatibility. These additions ensure that essential smartphone features remain available despite the device’s affordable positioning.
Redmi has launched the smartphone in China with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The starting price is set at 799 Chinese Yuan, which translates to roughly Rs 11,500. Buyers can choose from Sea Breeze Blue, Danxia Red, and Black color options. Sales have already begun through Xiaomi’s official channels in China.
Although the company has not yet announced availability in India, the Redmi 17C is expected to attract attention from budget conscious buyers looking for a large display, dependable battery life, and modern software at an accessible price point.
