OnePlus Nord 6 Price Keeps Rising as Premium Features Push It Into a New Segment

OnePlus Nord 6 has received another price hike in India within days making the smartphone costlier than launch while still attracting users with gaming performance massive battery and flagship style features

The price of the OnePlus Nord 6 has gone up once again in India, surprising smartphone buyers who were earlier considering it a strong value for money option in the premium mid range category. Within just a week, the company has reportedly increased the phone’s pricing for the second time, pushing the device much closer to the premium flagship segment.

When the smartphone was first introduced, the base variant carrying 8GB RAM and 256GB storage was priced at Rs 38,999, while the higher 12GB and 256GB version arrived at Rs 41,999. However, after multiple price revisions, the same models are now being sold at significantly higher prices. The 8GB variant is now listed at Rs 42,999, while the top variant has reached Rs 47,999.

The sudden jump in pricing has sparked discussions among smartphone users and industry watchers alike. Many buyers who initially praised the Nord 6 for offering flagship level specifications at an affordable price are now questioning whether the device still delivers the same value in its updated price bracket.

Industry experts believe rising component costs could be one of the main reasons behind the increase. Over the last few months, smartphone manufacturers across the market have faced pressure due to expensive memory modules, higher semiconductor costs, and ongoing global supply chain challenges. Instead of implementing one massive price jump, several companies now appear to be gradually increasing prices in smaller stages.

Despite the higher pricing, the OnePlus Nord 6 still brings powerful specifications that continue to attract performance focused users. The phone features a large 6.78 inch AMOLED display with a smooth 165Hz refresh rate, making gaming, scrolling, and multimedia usage feel extremely fluid. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage technology for faster performance and app loading speeds.

One of the phone’s biggest highlights remains its massive 9000mAh battery. The large battery capacity is designed for users who spend long hours gaming, streaming, or working on their devices without constantly searching for a charger. The company claims support for 80W fast charging, allowing the battery to refill quickly despite its size. Under regular usage conditions, the device is expected to comfortably last well beyond a full day, with many users potentially getting close to two and a half days on moderate use.

The smartphone also includes premium features such as Wi Fi 7 support and IP69 and IP69K ratings, offering stronger resistance against dust and water exposure. These additions place the Nord 6 closer to premium flagship territory than traditional mid range smartphones.

On the camera front, the device comes equipped with a 50 megapixel primary rear sensor accompanied by an 8 megapixel ultra wide lens. For selfies and video calls, the phone offers a 32 megapixel front camera. While the camera setup remains competitive, the latest price increase now places the device against several rivals offering stronger photography systems and more advanced flagship chipsets.

Even after the revised pricing, the OnePlus Nord 6 may still appeal to buyers who prioritize battery life, gaming capabilities, and smooth display performance over camera focused features. However, with the phone now entering a much higher price category, consumers are also expected to explore alternative premium smartphones before making a final decision.
