Motorola Users Get Big Upgrade as 44 Devices Expected to Receive Android 17 Update Rollout Timeline and List Explained

Motorola’s Razr, Edge, Moto G phones and tablets are expected to get Android 17 with smoother performance, improved security, AI features and better customization, starting rollout after Google release.

Motorola smartphone users are set to experience a major software upgrade as Android 17 is expected to roll out in the coming cycle. While Google is preparing to release the stable version around mid 2026, Motorola is also working on adapting the update for its eligible devices. Although the company has not officially confirmed the final list, multiple reports based on its update policy suggest that nearly 44 devices may receive the new Android version.

The upcoming update is expected to bring noticeable improvements in overall user experience. From smoother animations to enhanced battery optimization and stronger privacy controls, Android 17 is likely to refine how Motorola devices perform in daily use. AI based features and new customization options may also become part of the system, giving users more control over their smartphones.

Interestingly, Motorola’s upgrade list is not limited to one segment. It includes premium foldable phones from the Razr lineup, mid range devices from the Edge series, and several budget friendly models from the Moto G series. This wide coverage shows the company’s continued focus on offering long term software support across categories.

The Razr series is among the expected beneficiaries of Android 17. Models such as Motorola Razr 70, Razr 70 Plus, Razr 70 Ultra, Razr 60, Razr Plus 2025, Razr 60 Ultra, Razr 50, and Razr 50 Ultra are likely to be included. These foldable devices are part of Motorola’s premium lineup and usually receive priority updates under the company’s software policy.

The Edge series also features a long list of eligible smartphones. Devices like Motorola Edge 70, Edge 70 Pro, Edge 70 Pro Plus, Edge 70 Fusion, Edge 60 lineup variants, Edge 50 series models including Pro, Ultra, Neo and Fusion versions, along with Edge 2025 and Edge 2026 editions are expected to get Android 17. These phones represent Motorola’s core mid to upper segment portfolio.

Even the budget focused Moto G series is expected to benefit from the update cycle. Phones such as Moto G Stylus 5G 2025 and 2026 editions, Moto G Power 5G models, Moto G Play 2026, Moto G 2025 and 2026 variants, along with multiple numbered models like Moto G87, G86, G75 and others are likely to be part of the rollout list. This inclusion is important for users who rely on affordable smartphones but still expect long term software support.

Apart from smartphones, Motorola tablets and special devices may also receive the update. Devices like Moto Pad 2026, Moto Pad 60 Neo, ThinkPhone 25 and Motorola Signature series are also expected to be considered under the Android 17 rollout plan.

As per current expectations, Google may release Android 17 around June 2026. After that, Motorola will begin its internal optimization process before rolling out the update to users. The official rollout for Motorola devices is likely to start around September 2026 in a phased manner, depending on region and model priority.
