Motorola Signature 27 Teased in India With 200MP Camera

Motorola has started building anticipation for the Signature 27 in India, with the company sharing a video teaser that reveals several important details about the upcoming premium smartphone. The device is expected to arrive as an upgraded version of the Motorola Signature already available in the country.

The teaser gives the clearest look yet at the phone’s design and camera setup. Motorola has highlighted a 200 megapixel LYTIA camera on the rear, while Dolby Vision branding can also be seen around the camera module.

The company has not yet announced the complete specifications or Indian price of the smartphone. However, the latest teaser suggests that the Signature 27 will focus heavily on design, camera technology and premium materials.

The rear panel shown in the video has a textured finish, with a metallic ring surrounding the camera area. The Motorola logo is also prominently raised on the back, giving the phone a distinctive appearance.

Motorola has mentioned two Pantone colour shades for the upcoming device. These include Pantone 19 3914 TCX Coal Smoke and Pantone 18 0429 TCX Capulet Olive. The teaser specifically shows the Capulet Olive version, giving the phone an olive green appearance.

The company has also indicated that the phone is coming soon through a Snapdragon event. The event is scheduled to begin on September 22, 2026, suggesting that Motorola could reveal additional information about the Signature 27 around the same time.

For now, there is no confirmed Indian launch date beyond the teaser information. Motorola has also not announced the final price, storage variants or complete hardware specifications. An Indian microsite has not yet gone live either, so the eventual sales platform remains unknown.

The new smartphone will follow the Motorola Signature, which was launched in India with a starting price of Rs 59,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version. The 16GB RAM and 512GB model was priced at Rs 64,999, while the 16GB RAM and 1TB version carried a price of Rs 69,999.

The existing Motorola Signature features a 6.8 inch Super HD LTPO Extreme AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. The screen also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10 Plus content, along with a peak brightness of up to 6200 nits.

The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, built using a 3nm process. It is available with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage.

Motorola has also equipped the existing Signature with protection features including IP68 and IP69 ratings, MIL STD 810H certification and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. The handset uses an aluminium frame and different rear finishes depending on the selected colour.

Photography is another major feature of the current Signature. It has a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50 megapixel Sony LYT 828 main camera with optical image stabilisation, a 50 megapixel ultra wide camera and a 50 megapixel Sony LYT 600 periscope telephoto camera.

The telephoto camera supports 3x optical zoom and up to 100x hybrid zoom. A 50 megapixel Sony LYT 500 camera is placed on the front for selfies and video calls. The existing phone can record video at resolutions of up to 8K at 30 frames per second.

Battery capacity is also substantial on the current model. Motorola has used a 5200mAh silicon carbon battery with support for 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The phone also supports reverse charging through wireless and wired methods.

The Signature 27 is expected to build on this premium foundation, although Motorola has not confirmed which specifications from the current model will carry forward. The 200 megapixel LYTIA camera shown in the teaser is already one of the biggest changes highlighted by the company.

More information should become available as Motorola moves closer to the official announcement. Pricing, processor details, display specifications, memory configurations and battery capacity will be important details for Indian buyers waiting to see how the new Signature 27 compares with its predecessor.
