Microsoft Launches New Surface Laptop and Surface Pro With OLED Display and Snapdragon X2 Power
Microsoft has unveiled its latest Surface lineup featuring powerful Snapdragon X2 chips, improved AI performance, OLED display technology, long battery life, premium design upgrades and versatile 2 in 1 computing experience.

Microsoft has refreshed its premium Surface lineup with the launch of the new Surface Laptop and Surface Pro models, marking a major upgrade in both performance and design. The company has introduced the 8th generation Surface Laptop and the 12th generation Surface Pro, both powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon X2 architecture aimed at delivering stronger AI performance and improved efficiency.
The new devices are positioned as high end productivity machines for professionals and creators who need speed, portability and battery efficiency. Microsoft has integrated the Snapdragon X2 Plus and Snapdragon X2 Elite chipsets across the lineup, along with advanced neural processing units designed to handle modern AI based workloads more effectively.
Interestingly, the Surface Pro continues to stand out as a flexible 2 in 1 device, allowing users to switch between laptop and tablet modes. This hybrid design remains one of its biggest strengths, especially for users who prefer versatility in their daily workflow.
On the display front, Microsoft has offered multiple options across the lineup. The Surface Laptop comes in two sizes, 13.8 inch and 15 inch. The smaller model features a high quality 120Hz LCD panel with a sharp 201 PPI density, while the larger variant pushes clarity further with 262 PPI for a more detailed visual experience. Both models are designed for smooth performance and improved viewing comfort during long working hours.
The Surface Pro 12th generation model takes a different approach with a 13 inch OLED display that supports a dynamic 120Hz refresh rate. This upgrade brings deeper contrast, richer colors and a more immersive viewing experience, making it ideal for creative professionals and media consumption.
Performance improvements are a key highlight of the new lineup. Microsoft claims up to 58 percent faster graphics performance in the Surface Laptop series, while the Surface Pro sees a 53 percent boost compared to previous generations. These improvements are expected to benefit tasks such as video editing, multitasking and AI driven applications.
Battery life has also received attention in this generation. The 13.8 inch Surface Laptop is claimed to deliver up to 20 hours of usage on a single charge, while the larger 15 inch variant offers similar endurance. The Surface Pro provides up to 15.5 hours of battery life, making both devices suitable for full day productivity without frequent charging.
Storage and memory configurations remain practical for professional users. The Surface Laptop includes 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, ensuring smooth multitasking and fast data access. The Surface Pro base model starts with 256GB storage, catering to users who prioritize portability and flexibility over heavy storage needs.
Connectivity options are well balanced across both devices, featuring dual USB C ports with USB4 support along with a USB A port for legacy devices. Microsoft has also included a haptic touchpad in the Surface Laptop, enhancing the tactile experience for users during navigation and productivity tasks.
Pricing reflects the premium positioning of the devices. The Surface Laptop starts at approximately 1.51 lakh rupees for the 13.8 inch model, while the 15 inch version is priced around 1.60 lakh rupees. The Surface Pro 12th generation begins at about 1.41 lakh rupees. The devices will be available for purchase starting June 16.
With improved performance, refined design, AI focused architecture and long battery life, Microsoft’s latest Surface lineup aims to strengthen its position in the premium computing segment, targeting professionals who need both power and portability in a single device.
