Huawei has expanded its Nova lineup with a feature packed smartphone offering a large battery, fast charging, premium display, powerful cameras and flagship inspired design elements.

Huawei has officially introduced the Nova 16 in the Chinese market, bringing a combination of long battery life, advanced camera capabilities and premium design to the mid premium smartphone segment. The new device arrives with a large 7000mAh battery, dual 50 megapixel cameras and the company’s latest HarmonyOS software.
One of the biggest highlights of the Huawei Nova 16 is its battery performance. The smartphone is equipped with a substantial 7000mAh battery, making it one of the larger battery capacities available in its category. To complement this, Huawei has included 100W wired fast charging support, allowing users to recharge the device quickly and spend less time connected to a charger.
Photography enthusiasts are likely to find plenty to like in the Nova 16. The rear camera setup includes a 50 megapixel primary sensor designed for detailed and vibrant photography. Accompanying it is a 50 megapixel periscope telephoto camera with optical image stabilization support and digital zoom capabilities of up to 100x. For selfie lovers and video callers, Huawei has added a 50 megapixel front facing camera that promises high resolution images and clearer video communication.
The smartphone also focuses on display quality. Huawei has equipped the Nova 16 with a 6.68 inch Full HD Plus OLED screen that offers a resolution of 1280 x 2800 pixels. The panel supports refresh rates of up to 120Hz, ensuring smoother scrolling and fluid animations. A 300Hz touch sampling rate further enhances responsiveness, particularly during gaming and fast paced interactions. The display is protected by durable aluminosilicate glass for additional durability.
Performance duties are handled by Huawei’s Kirin 9010S chipset. The processor is paired with 12GB of RAM, while storage options go up to 512GB. This hardware combination is expected to provide a smooth experience for multitasking, content consumption and everyday productivity. The device runs on HarmonyOS 6.1, offering Huawei’s latest software features and ecosystem integration.
Huawei has also paid attention to durability and security. The Nova 16 carries an IP65 rating for resistance against dust and water exposure, adding extra confidence for daily use. A side mounted fingerprint scanner provides quick and convenient device unlocking while maintaining a sleek design.
In terms of connectivity, the smartphone supports 5G and 4G LTE networks, dual band WiFi, Bluetooth 6, NFC, GPS and a USB Type C port. Additional hardware features include an infrared blaster, gravity sensor, gyroscope, ambient light sensor and electronic compass, making the device suitable for a wide range of applications and smart ecosystem functions.
The design remains slim despite the large battery packed inside. Huawei has kept the thickness at just 7.3mm while the device weighs approximately 199 grams. The Nova 16 is available in multiple color options including Iridescent Mother of Pearl, Sky White, Sky Blue and Starry Black, giving buyers several stylish choices.
Huawei has launched the Nova 16 in two storage variants. The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model is priced at CNY 2,999, while the 12GB RAM and 512GB version carries a price tag of CNY 3,499. The smartphone is currently available through Huawei’s online store in China.
With its combination of a large battery, fast charging technology, premium OLED display and versatile camera system, the Huawei Nova 16 aims to attract users looking for a smartphone that can handle both productivity and entertainment without compromise. The device further strengthens Huawei’s Nova series by delivering flagship inspired features at a more accessible price point.
