Green SM Launches Electric Taxi Service in India Using VinFast EV Fleet

Green SM has officially entered India’s electric mobility space with its new electric taxi service powered by VinFast Limo Green vehicles, initially launched in Delhi NCR with app based booking and charging support expansion plans

Green SM has stepped into India’s rapidly growing electric mobility market with the launch of its all electric taxi service, marking a new phase in urban transport. The service has been introduced under the Green SM Limo brand and is currently available in Delhi and the National Capital Region. What makes this launch unique is its complete dependence on VinFast electric vehicles, positioning it as a dedicated EV based ride hailing platform.

Interestingly, unlike many ride hailing companies that operate mixed fleets, Green SM has chosen to rely exclusively on VinFast electric vehicles for its taxi operations. The company has deployed the Limo Green model in its fleet, which is essentially the commercial version of VinFast VF MPV 7. With this expansion, India becomes the fifth international market for Green SM, which already operates in countries like Vietnam, Laos, the Philippines and Indonesia. The company has indicated that further expansion in India will depend on rising demand.

Bookings for the service can be made through the Green SM mobile app or via the company’s contact number, offering both digital and traditional access options for users. To support smooth operations, the company has integrated its service with the V Green charging infrastructure network. As part of its introductory offer, Green SM is also providing up to 50 percent discount on rides until 11 June, aiming to attract early users in the competitive urban commute space.

The electric MPV being used in this service, VinFast VF MPV 7, comes with a design focused on commercial passenger comfort. It features sleek styling elements such as pull type door handles and slim rear tail lamps that stretch across the vehicle width. In terms of size, the vehicle measures 4740 mm in length, 1872 mm in width and 1734 mm in height, offering around 1240 litres of boot space, making it suitable for group travel and airport rides.

Under the hood, the VF MPV 7 is powered by a 60.1 kWh battery pack that claims a driving range of approximately 517 kilometres on a single charge. The vehicle includes a 10.1 inch infotainment display along with USB A and USB C charging ports, ensuring passenger convenience. Safety and driving stability are supported by features like an all disc braking system, electronic parking brake with auto hold and stability control systems.

Performance wise, the electric MPV is equipped with a front mounted motor that generates around 150 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. It is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kmph in under 10 seconds, making it both practical and relatively quick for its category. With this combination of range, comfort and performance, the vehicle is positioned as a strong contender in the commercial EV segment in India.
