Acer has expanded its gaming device portfolio with the launch of the new Predator Atlas 8 handheld gaming console in select international markets. Designed for gamers who want a portable yet powerful gaming experience, the device combines high refresh rate visuals, advanced cooling technology and premium gaming controls in a compact form factor.

The new handheld gaming device is expected to attract attention from players looking for a console style experience with PC level gaming performance. Acer has equipped the Predator Atlas 8 with upgraded hardware, a large display and multiple customization features aimed at improving gameplay comfort and responsiveness.

One of the major highlights of the Predator Atlas 8 is its 8 inch WUXGA IPS display. The screen offers a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels along with a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother gameplay and fluid animations. Acer has also included Gorilla Glass Victus protection for improved durability. The display supports a 16:10 aspect ratio and delivers brightness levels of up to 500 nits, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor gaming sessions.

Acer is offering the gaming handheld with two processor configurations. The standard model features the Intel Arc G3 processor paired with Intel Arc B370 graphics, while the higher end variant can be configured with the more powerful Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and Intel Arc B390 GPU. The handheld supports up to 24GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage, allowing users to handle demanding games and multitasking efficiently.

To manage heat during long gaming sessions, Acer has integrated a dual fan cooling system into the device. The setup includes a Predator AeroBlade metal fan along with an additional plastic fan to maintain stable temperatures and improve airflow inside the handheld.

The Predator Atlas 8 also focuses heavily on gaming controls and user experience. It includes a complete ABXY button layout, dual full size analog joysticks, D pad, macro buttons, bumper triggers and Hall effect analog triggers for improved precision. Acer has also added adjustable trigger switches, a dedicated PredatorSense button and an Xbox Game Bar widget button for quick access to gaming features.

For security and convenience, the power button comes integrated with a fingerprint sensor. The device also includes stereo speakers, volume controls and additional gaming oriented shortcuts aimed at competitive and casual gamers alike.

Acer confirmed that the Predator Atlas 8 will be available in North America, EMEA regions and Australia starting October 2026 through the company’s online stores. The handheld will initially be offered only in a black color option. However, the company has not yet revealed official pricing details or confirmed availability for the Indian market.

With premium specifications, advanced graphics support and a portable gaming focused design, the Acer Predator Atlas 8 is shaping up to be one of the notable handheld gaming launches from Acer this year.
