Telangana Heat Wave Alert Issued for Four Districts

Rising temperatures across Telangana have pushed several districts into severe heat conditions as authorities issue red alerts and urge residents to remain cautious during daytime hours.

Telangana is witnessing intense summer conditions as temperatures continue to rise sharply across the state. Officials have issued a Red Alert for four districts after weather experts warned that the heat wave is expected to remain severe over the next few days.

Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam and Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts have been placed under Red Alert as authorities fear temperatures may climb well above normal levels. According to weather officials, these districts could record daytime temperatures that are four to six degrees higher than seasonal averages.

Several parts of the state have already reported extremely high temperatures. Vemulapalli in Nalgonda district recorded the highest temperature of 46.5 degrees Celsius, making it one of the hottest locations in Telangana. Jagityal, Asifabad, Nizamabad and Suryapet also witnessed severe conditions with temperatures touching around 46.4 degrees Celsius.

Meteorologists believe strong dry winds and persistent heat conditions are responsible for the extreme rise in temperatures across the state. They also warned that the heat wave may continue for at least the next three days, keeping residents under difficult weather conditions.

Despite the intense heat, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall and isolated thunder activity in some regions, which could bring temporary relief. Health officials are advising people to avoid stepping out during afternoon hours unless absolutely necessary.

Doctors have especially urged children, elderly people and pregnant women to remain hydrated by drinking enough water, ORS solutions and buttermilk to avoid heat related illnesses and dehydration.
