Telangana Cabinet Meeting Focuses on Welfare and Key Policy Decisions

The Telangana Cabinet is set to review welfare expansion, education reforms, agricultural planning, financial discipline measures, and several public priority issues ahead of the state formation celebrations.

A crucial Telangana Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is scheduled to take place this evening at the State Secretariat, drawing significant attention across political and public circles. With Telangana Formation Day celebrations approaching on June 2, expectations are high regarding several policy decisions that may directly affect citizens.

The government is likely to focus strongly on welfare expansion measures aimed at reaching more families across the state. Discussions are expected on the second phase of Indiramma Houses, including revisions to beneficiary selection guidelines and eligibility conditions. Authorities are also expected to review plans related to Indiramma Family Insurance and the extension of Cheyutha pensions to nearly two lakh additional beneficiaries.

Education related issues are also expected to receive major attention during the meeting. The Cabinet may deliberate on fee reimbursement for students, the release of pending scholarship amounts, and a proposal to introduce a special commission for regulating fee structures in private and corporate educational institutions. These decisions are being closely watched by students and parents.

Agriculture and rural development are likely to be another important part of the discussions. Officials may review crop planning strategies for the upcoming season and examine issues linked to grain procurement. Strengthening rural economic activity remains one of the government’s key priorities.

The Cabinet is also expected to review administrative and financial matters, including cost saving measures across departments. The proposals may include reducing unnecessary expenditure on fuel usage, electricity consumption, and overseas travel as part of broader financial discipline efforts.

In addition, the meeting may consider approvals related to road infrastructure projects under the Hybrid Annuity Model, revisions in land market values, progress under the Praja Palana programme, and the allocation of house sites for journalists. Several final decisions from today’s meeting are expected to shape the government’s agenda in the coming weeks.
