The Telangana High Court imposed a Rs 50,000 penalty on HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath after finding violations of its status quo orders in a land dispute case.

High Court Fines HYDRAA Chief: The Telangana High Court has imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath for failing to comply with court directions in a land dispute matter. Justice NV Shravan Kumar passed the order on Friday, holding the official responsible under contempt proceedings.

The case relates to a two acre land dispute located in Survey No. 45 of Yousufguda village under Khairatabad mandal in Hyderabad. Petitioner Mohammed Shafahatullah had approached the High Court seeking relief over the disputed property.

According to the petitioner, the court had earlier directed all parties to maintain status quo regarding the land. However, authorities allegedly demolished an existing compound wall and erected fencing on the property despite the court’s clear instructions.

During the latest hearing, the court noted that HYDRAA had failed to file a counter affidavit even after being granted a final opportunity. Justice Shravan Kumar expressed strong displeasure over the non compliance and the reported violation of the status quo order.

Taking a serious view of the matter, the judge directed Commissioner AV Ranganath to pay a penalty of Rs 50,000 to the Chief Justice Relief Fund. The court further instructed the registry to accept the counter affidavit in the case only after proof of payment is submitted.
