AP Telangana Rain Alert: Heavy Rain Alert Issued for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

The weather department has forecast rain across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the next three days, with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds possible in several areas.

AP Telangana Rain Alert: The weather is likely to remain active across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the next few days, with the Meteorological Department warning of rain, thunderstorms and strong winds in several areas.

A depression over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of West Bengal and north Odisha was located near the same region at 8:30 am on Monday. The system is expected to move initially towards the north northwest before gradually shifting northwestwards across parts of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar.

The weather system is being supported by a monsoon trough extending across northern and eastern parts of the country. A shear zone is also present over central and adjoining northern peninsular India. These systems are contributing to the unsettled weather conditions over the two Telugu states.

In Andhra Pradesh, the Amaravati Meteorological Centre has forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers at a few places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during the next three days. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning may occur at isolated locations.

Strong winds are also likely in some parts of the state, with speeds expected to reach around 40 to 50 kmph. South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema are also likely to receive rainfall during the same period.

Telangana Weather Forecast
Telangana is also expected to see scattered rainfall during the next three days. The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre said light to moderate rain is likely at a few places across the state today and tomorrow.

Similar conditions may continue on the following day, with rainfall expected at isolated locations. Surface winds could also remain strong in some areas, reaching speeds of around 30 to 40 kmph.

The changing weather pattern is linked mainly to the depression over the Bay of Bengal, the monsoon trough and the prevailing shear zone. With rain already being reported in parts of both states, residents have been advised to remain cautious, particularly during thunderstorms and periods of strong winds.
