Police investigating a suitcase containing human remains on the Tamil Nadu Express traced the case through CCTV footage, leading them to a rented house in Chennai.

Tamil Nadu Express Murder Case: A gruesome murder case linked to the Tamil Nadu Express has come to light after passengers reported a foul smell from a red suitcase on the train. Police later found human body parts inside the luggage at Agra railway station.

The investigation began on August 5 after railway authorities were alerted about the suspicious suitcase. Preliminary inquiries indicated that the luggage had been placed on the train at Chennai Central.

Police examined footage from around 350 CCTV cameras around Chennai Central and nearby areas. The recordings reportedly showed a man and a woman carrying the red suitcase into the station before boarding the train.

Investigators then traced their movements from Chennai Park station to Guduvanchery using additional CCTV footage. The trail eventually led police to an autorickshaw and then to a rented house in Masjid Street.

The house reportedly contained blood stains and other evidence suggesting that the killing had taken place there. Police allege that the suspects attempted to dispose of the victim’s remains after the murder. Some body parts were allegedly placed inside the suitcase, while other remains were reportedly destroyed in an attempt to conceal evidence.

The victim has been identified as Hayath Nisha, originally from Odisha. She was reportedly separated from her husband and had been working at an export company in Tambaram. Her son was working as an air conditioning mechanic.

Investigators are examining Nisha’s association with a couple identified as Manik Uthin and Laskar. She had reportedly introduced Manik Uthin to people around her as her younger brother.

Police are now trying to establish the exact circumstances behind the murder. Investigators are also examining whether money, jewellery or another personal dispute could have been the motive.

The search for additional evidence, including the remaining body parts, is continuing as the investigation progresses.
