Yeshwanthpur Express Coaches Split at Gooty Station, Major Mishap Averted
Passengers escaped unharmed after two coaches of the Yeshwanthpur Katihar Express separated at Gooty Railway Station. Quick action by the loco pilot prevented a serious accident and ensured safety.

An alert loco pilot helped avert a major railway mishap after a portion of the Yeshwanthpur Katihar Express became detached while entering Gooty Railway Station in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur district on Tuesday evening.
The incident occurred when the train was arriving on Platform No. 1 at the station. Railway officials said the coupling between the S6 and S7 coaches suddenly failed, causing the rear coaches to separate from the rest of the train. The unexpected development created tense moments among passengers onboard.
However, the loco pilot quickly noticed the issue and immediately applied controlled braking measures. As a result, the detached coaches rolled forward at a slow speed and gently came into contact with the front section of the train, preventing what could have turned into a serious accident.
Railway staff rushed to the spot and began restoration work without delay. The separated coaches were reattached, and comprehensive safety inspections were carried out before the train was cleared for further movement.
Officials confirmed that no passengers were injured in the incident. Following the repairs and safety checks, the Yeshwanthpur Katihar Express resumed its journey with a delay of around 30 minutes.
Preliminary assessments suggest that a technical fault may have led to the coupling failure. The swift response of the train crew and railway personnel ensured that all passengers remained safe, bringing relief to those travelling on the train.
