Vijayawada Tirupati Flight Cuts Travel Time to Just Over an Hour

Fly91 has launched direct flights between Vijayawada and Tirupati, offering faster travel for devotees and passengers, with fares starting around Rs 3,000 and special TTD facilities available.

A new direct flight service between Vijayawada and Tirupati is set to make travel much easier for passengers, particularly devotees visiting Tirumala. Fly91 has started operating flights between the two cities, cutting the journey from several hours by road to just over an hour by air.

The service will operate four days a week. According to the schedule, the flight leaves Tirupati at 8:05 am and reaches Vijayawada International Airport at 9:15 am. The return flight departs Vijayawada at 9:45 am and arrives in Tirupati at 10:50 am.

Fly91 representatives said fares for the route are expected to be around Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,500. The relatively low fare could make the service an attractive option for people who want to avoid the long road journey between the two cities.

The new connectivity is particularly useful for pilgrims travelling from Vijayawada and nearby areas. A road journey between Vijayawada and Tirupati can take around seven to eight hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. The flight reduces that travel time considerably.

There is another facility for passengers travelling to Tirupati by air. The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has arranged a counter at Tirupati airport where eligible passengers can obtain Srivani Trust darshan tickets.

Passengers can approach the TTD counter with their flight boarding pass and Aadhaar card. Under the facility, they can make a donation of Rs 10,000 to the Srivani Trust and pay Rs 500 for the darshan ticket.

TTD is making 200 tickets available every day under this quota. The arrangement could be especially convenient for passengers who have limited time and want to plan their Tirumala visit soon after arriving in Tirupati.

The combination of direct air connectivity, shorter travel time and the availability of darshan tickets at the airport is expected to benefit pilgrims travelling between the two cities.

With fares starting at around Rs 3,000, the Fly91 service could also attract regular travellers who otherwise depend on buses, trains or private vehicles for the Vijayawada Tirupati journey.
