Ranabaali Shooting Complete: The much awaited period drama Ranabaali has completed its shooting, bringing the team one step closer to its worldwide theatrical release on October 16. The makers announced the wrap with a countdown poster, adding to the anticipation surrounding the film.

Director Rahul Sankrityan revealed that the team spent around 130 days working continuously on the project. Sharing the update, he said the film is now just 29 days away from reaching audiences.

Ranabaali brings together Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in a different setting. The two actors, who are now set to portray husband and wife on screen, are expected to be seen in roles that are quite different from their previous collaborations.

The story is set in the 19th century, around 1870, and draws inspiration from real events that took place between 1854 and 1878. Vijay plays a rebellious warrior, a role that required a physically demanding appearance. Rahul Sankrityan had earlier explained that Vijay was chosen in part because of the physical presence needed for the character.

The film marks the second collaboration between Vijay Deverakonda and Rahul Sankrityan after their 2018 movie Taxiwaala. For the female lead, the director said the team considered several options before choosing Rashmika, whose popularity across different Indian film industries suited the scale of the project.

Mounted as a pan India production, Ranabaali has been in the spotlight for its period setting, lead cast and ambitious scale. With filming now wrapped, the focus shifts to the promotional campaign as the October 16 release date approaches.
