Nayanthara on Career and Motherhood: Nayanthara Opens Up About Career, Motherhood and Finding Balance

Nayanthara says family keeps her grounded as she continues seeking challenging roles that push her creatively while balancing motherhood and a demanding film career.

Nayanthara on Career and Motherhood: Nayanthara has built a successful career across languages, but the actor says she is still waiting for roles that genuinely surprise her and push her beyond her comfort zone.

In a recent interview, she spoke about her work, motherhood and the importance of having the right support system. The actor said that success feels good, but personal and creative growth matters more to her at this stage of her career.

Nayanthara recently appeared as Ganga, Yash’s sister, in Toxic and has now returned to the screen with Hi. Reflecting on her journey, she said her love for cinema and the desire to keep improving have continued to drive her.

For Nayanthara, managing a demanding film career alongside motherhood has not always been easy. She said family support has played an important role in helping her maintain that balance.

Her children, Uyir and Ulagam, remain a major source of strength for her. She makes a conscious effort to spend meaningful time with them and plans her shooting schedules accordingly. Being around her children, she said, brings her back to everyday life and keeps her grounded.

The actor also spoke candidly about films that do not perform as expected. While a disappointing result can hurt, she prefers to treat it as an opportunity to learn rather than dwell on it.

She believes every professional choice cannot lead to success and accepts that setbacks are part of the journey. Instead of reacting immediately, she said she takes time to reflect, accepts responsibility and moves forward with greater clarity.

Looking ahead, Nayanthara wants to take on characters that challenge her, inspire her and eventually make her children proud. For her, that sense of growth remains more important than simply adding another successful film to her career.
