Sensex Nifty Rebound: Indian Stock Markets End Seven Day Losing Streak With Strong Gains

Indian stock markets bounced back sharply on Thursday, ending a seven session losing run as lower US bond yields, foreign inflows and buying across key sectors lifted investor sentiment.

Sensex Nifty Rebound: After seven consecutive sessions of losses, Indian equity markets finally found some relief on Thursday. The Sensex and Nifty both finished firmly in positive territory as buying returned across several key sectors.

A softer trend in US bond yields helped improve market sentiment, while fresh buying by foreign investors provided additional support. Realty, private banking and IT stocks were among the sectors that attracted investor interest during the session.

The Sensex opened at 77,468.45, compared with the previous close of 76,909.68. The index remained in the green throughout the trading session and climbed to an intraday high of 77,611.11. It eventually closed 628.04 points higher at 77,537.72.

The Nifty also staged a strong recovery. The index added 153.55 points to finish at 24,231.85, moving back above the 24,200 level after its recent slide. The rupee stood at 95.71 against the US dollar.

Most stocks in the Sensex 30 pack ended higher. Titan, HCL Technologies, IndiGo and Tata Steel were among the few stocks that closed in the red, while the remaining constituents recorded gains.

The positive mood was not limited to Indian markets. Major Asian indices, including those in South Korea, Japan, Shanghai and Hong Kong, also traded higher, adding to the broader regional optimism.

In commodities, Brent crude was trading around 93.94 dollars a barrel, while gold stood at about 4,490.60 dollars an ounce. The movement in global markets and bond yields will remain important factors for investors as domestic markets head into the next trading session.
