Apple Unveils M6 and M5 Ultra Chips: Apple has introduced two new chips aimed at pushing its Mac lineup further into high performance and artificial intelligence workloads. The company has launched the Mac mini with its new M6 chip and the Mac Studio with the M5 Ultra.

The M6 marks Apple’s first chip built using a 2 nanometer manufacturing process. The company says the smaller process helps deliver greater computing capability while maintaining an efficient design.

The chip features a 12 core CPU and 12 core graphics processor, along with a new dual 16 core Neural Engine designed to handle AI related tasks more efficiently. It also supports memory bandwidth of up to 170GB per second, which should help improve performance during demanding workloads.

For professional users, Apple has positioned the M5 Ultra as its most powerful chip yet. It uses a new quad die architecture that connects two dual die M5 Max chips through Apple’s UltraFusion technology.

The M5 Ultra comes with 36 CPU cores and 80 graphics cores, while its memory bandwidth reaches up to 1.2TB per second. Apple says this represents a 50 percent increase over the previous M3 Ultra in memory bandwidth.

The new Mac Studio is available with different configurations, with the M5 Max model starting at Rs 2,79,900 and the M5 Ultra version starting at Rs 6,29,900.

With the new chips, Apple is placing greater emphasis on faster processing, graphics performance and on device AI capabilities across its desktop Mac range.
